This is the nerdy stuff, but each print technique gives you a different finish.
Choose from traditional letterpress, foil stamping or standard digital printing and make sure your awesome event rejects your personality.
We’ve picked the perfect techniques for our designs, so look for these icon to see what options are available.
Clean & simple
For when you like the look of the design but don’t want anything too extreme. It’s the simplest and quickest turnaround which also aids your pocket with costs. We use standard 310gsm artboard.
Premium & traditional
Letterpress printing uses old school techniques which have become quite popular in the modern age. It brings a 3D touch to your invites which are printed on a soft cotton stock that you can feel the indentation of the text. It’s the added class and elegance to your wedding and comes in a 500gsm heavy weight.
Hot to trot
Foil stamping uses traditional hot foil stampers and applies pigment to each card resulting in a slight indentation in the paper with a sweet as reflection. Popular colours are gold, silver and rose gold, but there is a range of other colours can also be applied.
Rise and shine
Scodix is a print finish that adds a luxury look and feel to ordinary print runs by producing a raised ink experience. It is a digital enhancement printed on top of an image after the printing and laminating process. It’s available in gold, silver and clear.
Beer budget, champagne taste
Letterpress on cotton stock can be costly so a cheaper alternative is to print on our premium standard stock and deboss into it. Works well for patterns with a subtle highlight and still gives the impression it is just as premium.
A Spot UV coating or “varnish” is applied to chosen spots (areas) of a printed card. This has the affect of highlighting and drawing attention to that part of the design, but it also provides the additional visual stimulus of having varied textures on a single printed surface.
If you’re after something out of the box, something worth a second glance at, then consider what your invitation is printed on.
It not only sets the tone but it also won’t be put at the bottom of the drawer that’s for sure.
Our standard stock for wedding invitations is from 500gsm, whereas other event invitations we print on 300gsm. So you’ll be sure to know you are paying for a premium stock.
Closer to nature
When you’re still budget conscious, but still want a stock that has a wow factor, printing on kraft looks stunning when printed with white ink or black and paired with foil stamping.
The possibilities are endless when you choose a coloured stock. They look great with a foil stamp – try a blush card with a rose gold foiling! These also look great with white ink.
Etched in love
Acrylic is an affordable substrate and when etched with details on a translucent colour, it reflects the details. It can be paired with an invitation or simply used as the invite. Choose from 1mm to 10mm (for something that can stand upright).
Nothing gets more premium than stainless steel metal. You can choose normal or brushed. You can have parts just etched with detail and others filled with ink. This is sure to give you the pizzaz you are after.
If your theme is far more straight forward and leafy green, then printing on wood is such a great way to portray that. You can also have it lasercut so it has show through. it’s just another way we try to make your event come to life.
